Bringing the Brand to Life
Facility Branding at Findorff

Thysse Map Marker
Thysse partnered with Findorff to create a dynamic, interactive branding experience that would celebrate the company’s legacy, core values, and innovative spirit. Located within Findorff’s stunning corporate headquarters on Lake Monona, the project aimed to enrich two high-traffic areas: a multi-functional Feature Wall and an enhanced Entry Experience in the lobby. With each detail carefully crafted to convey Findorff’s commitment to quality and forward-thinking, the installations brought the brand’s personality to life, providing a gathering space for employees and a memorable visual experience for visitors.

Feature Wall
A Living Tribute to Findorff’s Story

The Feature Wall is a wonderful example of storytelling through experiential design–designed to celebrate Findorff’s heritage and core values, while remaining versatile and relevant for years to come. This wasn’t just a static display; it’s a constantly evolving feature that incorporates digital and analog components to engage employees and visitors alike.

The Interactive Wisconsin Map

A laser-etched cork map of Wisconsin serves as a tactile representation of Findorff’s regional reach. Red pushpins designate project locations, making it easy to see where Findorff has left its mark across the state. The metal backer, finished with a durable powder coat, enhances the map’s resilience and provides a magnetic surface for additional pins, allowing it to evolve as the company takes on new projects and offer a place to gather and celebrate these important moments.

Sustainability Panel with Preserved Moss

Findorff’s commitment to sustainability is showcased through a panel featuring preserved moss, adding a natural, eco-friendly element to the wall. Mounted on an acrylic panel with standoffs, this piece offers a dynamic look with depth and texture. Kris Marconnet, Thysse’s Facility Branding Designer, handcrafted this piece, choosing vibrant green moss to capture attention and symbolize growth. The standoff fasteners that hold the sign allow Findorff to swap out the acrylic panel and message as new sustainability milestones are achieved.

The Drone Display and Technology Panel

As a construction leader, Findorff employs cutting-edge technology, including drones and VR tools. The drone and tablet featured in the installation showcase the company’s tech-forward approach and allows audiences to explore virtual reality views of past and ongoing projects.

Employee Recognition: "We Celebrate Our Champions"

Recognizing employees’ achievements is central to Findorff’s culture. The We Celebrate Our Champions section includes magnetic hardhat stickers that represent projects. This element is deeply meaningful as teams at Findorff get a hardhat sticker at each project they contribute to. Over time, these stickers become a badge of honor, speaking to the experience and places each person worked. Bringing that into the installation really connects it to the entire Findorff team. The stickers are magnetic, so they can be added, moved or pulled down, offering flexibility and reinforcing a sense of pride and accomplishment among the team.

The Toolbox

In a nod to the company’s construction roots, Thysse integrated an actual toolbox—cut in half and mounted on the wall. This unique element represents Findorff’s skilled trades and various divisions. Each tool symbolizes a different trade, from architectural design and masonry to carpentry and drywall, creating a visually impactful “toolbox of trades.”. In the center, a tablet display showcases virtual reality content, allowing employees and visitors to see project plans and models in an immersive way.

Safety Panel

The Safety Panel emphasizes Findorff’s commitment to workplace safety, a non-negotiable aspect of the construction industry. This display features safety harness tether straps and a hardhat set against a painted wood backdrop. The panel serves as both a reminder of safety’s importance and Findorff’s dedication to protecting its workforce.

Trophy Case and Awards Display

Findorff’s accomplishments are given their own place of honor in an illuminated trophy space. Built-in lighting brings attention to the awards while allowing the display to blend seamlessly with the rest of the wall. The case is designed to adapt to new awards, keeping the accolades on display as fresh and relevant as the company’s achievements.

Each of these elements on the Feature Wall was chosen with purpose, reflecting both Findorff’s legacy and its forward-looking goals. “It was fun to see them go beyond themselves with something so dynamic,” Kris said, capturing the transformative impact the wall has had on the space.

Lobby Entry Experience
Amplifying Findorff’s Brand Voice

The second part of the project focused on Findorff’s lobby, transforming it into a welcoming space that amplifies the brand voice and adds a vibrant first impression for visitors. Thysse worked to incorporate Findorff’s brand into a clean, modern aesthetic update that blends static, dynamic and updatable elements to ensure relevance and long-lasting impact.

Custom Steel Frame with Tensioned Cables

A central part of the lobby’s branding is a monitor display set into a custom steel frame with tensioned cables. These cables echo Findorff’s brand pattern, representing the many facets of the building process. Engineering the frame to handle the weight of the cables was no small feat—Kris noted that it required handling thousands of pounds of tension to keep the cables taut, blending elegance with structural integrity.

The left panel shows an architectural photo of a building, while the right panel has a red background with the text: "Seek to do something BEYOND what you have already mastered, and we will all continue to grow." Below, the Findorff logo reads "Building & Beyond."

Three-Panel SEG Frame Installation

The lobby’s branding also includes a three-panel SEG (Silicone Edge Graphics) frame installation. Sized to fit the architectural features of the wall, these vibrant fabric panels bring color and energy to the space. The SEG frames were chosen for their flexibility; Findorff can easily swap out the fabric graphics, allowing them to update the display to reflect new projects or messaging without significant expense.

Reception Desk Branding with Dimensional Letters

The reception area is branded with dimensional lettering, creating a sense of depth and sophistication. The letters are colored acrylic, casting subtle shadows that add dimension to the space. By integrating the design with existing architectural lines and using durable materials, Thysse created a branded experience that feels cohesive with the rest of the lobby.

A Lasting Impact on Findorff’s Brand Environment

The facility branding project at Findorff’s headquarters is more than just a visual upgrade—it’s a transformation of the company’s physical space into a living, breathing representation of its values and mission. From the Feature Wall that brings the company’s history and technology to the forefront, to the dynamic, flexible elements in the lobby, each component serves as a testament to Findorff’s legacy and forward-thinking approach.
Findorff’s employees and visitors now have spaces that are both visually compelling and deeply functional, creating an environment where they can gather, celebrate, and engage with the brand on a daily basis. As Findorff continues to grow, the adaptable design allows the company to keep its installations current, fresh, and meaningful.
Reflecting on the project, Kris Marconnet shared, “This was more than just a wall—it was a chance to help Findorff tell their story in a way that feels authentic and alive. And that’s what great design is all about.”
