Simplifying Retail Resets with Thoughtful Kitting and Collaboration

Thysse Map Marker
At Thysse, our partnership with Lands’ End demonstrates how tailored solutions can simplify operations while enhancing the retail experience. With 28 stores resetting their visual merchandising up to 12 times a year, the challenge of maintaining consistency and quality across locations requires both hands-on collaboration and an unwavering commitment to creativity. Together, we’ve developed processes that streamline resets, support efficient logistics, and elevate the in-store environment for Lands’ End’s customers.

Flexible Signage for Rapid Updates

Lands’ End’s visual merchandising strategy relies on adaptability. With new products, floor sets, and promotions introduced every four to six weeks, the ability to quickly update in-store visuals is key. Their stores use layered signage systems, which allow for seamless swaps of sale pricing, product details or other information without the need to replace entire displays. This approach not only reduces waste but also ensures a consistent look that reflects their ever-changing inventory.
With Lands’ End’s merchandising and creative teams working on tight cycles, Thysse steps in to handle the production and logistics. By providing high-quality, modular signage tailored to their needs, we help Lands’ End execute resets efficiently and with precision.
Beth Schultz, Visual Retail Procurement Manager at Lands’ End, explains, “The team at Thysse is so detail-oriented. They know Lands’ End—what we do, top to bottom. It’s really the customer service that stands out.”

Behind the sign, there are racks of clothing and part of the store's interior, including lights and a checkout counter, visible in the background.

Complete Retail Reset Kits

Thysse’s role extends beyond printing. To support Lands’ End’s resets, we also assemble and ship full retail reset kits. These kits include not only the signage and graphics we produce but also decorative elements such as pampas grass, vases, conifer branches and other accents provided by Lands’ End. By kitting these items together, we ensure every store receives exactly what it needs to execute a cohesive reset.

This process simplifies logistics for Lands’ End, consolidating multiple components into a single shipment. The result? A consistent and polished retail experience across all 28 locations that’s easy for store teams to implement.

Supporting a Seamless In-Store and Online Experience

At Lands’ End, in-store kiosks provide customers with the convenience of ordering out-of-stock items for free shipping. To support this integrated shopping approach, Thysse produced signage and graphics that draw attention to the kiosk areas, making them an intuitive part of the shopping journey.

By designing clear, visually appealing graphics tailored to the store layout, they help ensure customers can easily locate and use these tools. This collaboration highlights how print can enhance functionality within the retail environment while maintaining a cohesive and engaging store experience.

Innovating Together

The partnership between Lands’ End and Thysse is rooted in collaboration and a shared commitment to quality. By piloting new ideas in a centralized test store, we identify and resolve challenges before rolling out solutions across all locations. This approach allows Lands’ End to focus on delivering exceptional products and service while we handle the logistics and production.

Whether it’s layered signage, full kitting services, or ensuring on-time delivery, our work together ensures that Lands’ End’s stores are always prepared to meet the demands of a fast-paced retail environment. As Beth puts it, “It’s a great working relationship. We kind of know each other backwards and forwards. It works.”
